Finally, after months of detailing the towns and villages along theConegliano – Valdobbiadene Prosecco route, we have reached Col San Martino! Home of Follador Prosecco Winery, which is located in the south of the village, and our personal favourite stop off point!
Col San Martino is lies along the creek Raboso and archaeological excavations have shown that the area has been inhabited since Prehistoric times. As well as its superior Prosecco production the local economy thrives off animal breeding and dairy products. In the Middle Ages, the main centre of the village evolved around a small fortress built on the summit of a hill, the ”Torri di Credazzo’, the remains of which can still be visited today. Other attractions to visit in Col San Martino include the Church of San Vigilio, accessible from the side of the path of the Prosecco trail near the Follador Winery, and of course the winery itself!
The winery covers an area of 3 hectares and is split into three differing working sections: fermentation, bottling, and cellars. The entire process of prosecco production, from harvest to bottling, is completed on the property and special concessions have been developed for our non-sparkling and more complex wines, such as red “Ca’ dei Noni” Cabernet wine.
The best way to experience and understand our winery is to visit and explore, and due to increasing interest in our wines we’ve created a tasting room to welcome visitors. Our sophisticated environment is a home from home for Prosecco enthusiasts and for special events and guided tours we serve wonderful traditional food to accompany our wines, the perfect way to enjoy Folldaor Prosecco in its place of birth!
