You still have time to check out the 15th International Exhibition of Architecture at the Arsenale Gardens in Venice. There pavilions and events planned throughout the lagoon city until Sunday, November 27, 2016.
This year’s title is: “Reporting from the front,” a challenging subject which aims to show how wise and forward-looking architecture can improve people’s lives, especially when facing difficult challenges or tough circumstances. There are three Special Projects of this Biennale. One is entitled “Reporting from Marghera and Other Waterfronts,” which shares ideas about urban regeneration of industrial ports, in particular discussing the revitalization of Porto Marghera, an area so close to Venice that it’s a project deserving particular attention.
Another special project called, “Report from Cities: Conflicts of an Urban Age” which concerns the issue of urbanization and deepening relationship between public and private space. The last of the three is a collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It’s title: “A World of Fragile Parts,” addresses the threats faced by World Heritage sites and elevates their protection to a global concern.
It is a topic that resonates locally. particularly now given the recent formalization of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano as a UNESCO protected site.
The Follador Company sits in the heart of this territory; therefore we are keenly aware of how important this designation is and the value it adds to an area already known for its excellence. Should you find yourself present at this Biennale, we’d like to remind you that autumn is one of the most beautiful times for an excursions inland Just follow the scenic trails of the Prosecco Road, where harvest has just finished and the hillsides are dressed in their resplendent fall colours. Breathe in the crisp air of the changing seasons as you enjoy a beautiful side trip to visit us in Valdobbiadene and Conegliano.
